Cover Letter

Thank you for taking the time to review my CV. I've put it in a web format so it's easy to find and share. If you'd prefer a traditional paper resume, just let me know and I'll be glad to provide one.

I'm currently looking for a new role in Information Security. For the past five years, I worked at a bank where cybersecurity was a core part of my job. When a larger institution acquired that bank, the only position available to me was on the Help Desk. I'm grateful they kept me on, but the move has greatly reduced my security responsibilities, and there have been few chances for training or growth. I'm ready to get back to the work I'm most passionate about, so I'm exploring opportunities where I can keep building my career in security.

I care deeply about protecting people from cyber threats, and that drives me to keep learning so I can stay ahead of adversaries. In this field, standing still means falling behind, and I make a point of learning something new every day. My hands-on experience, together with that drive to keep improving, makes me a strong fit for a security role. The badges I've earned on industry-leading training platforms show my ongoing commitment to sharpening my skills. InfoSec isn't just my job. It's a hobby to me as well, but it is more of a way of life. It really is what I love to do.

I'd welcome the chance to talk with you about this opportunity and to learn more about your organization's security culture.

Thank you again for reviewing my CV. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out.

Sincerely, Andrew Ingram
